Has anyone added aux back-up lights that work and look decent? I need to throw some more light down a dark and tricky driveway, but I don't want big ol headlight looking floods hangng off the bumper...

x2. I'd also like to know how to add backup lights. Mainly, which wire to tap into to have them turn on when the truck is put in reverse.

I did on my old dads old truck it was a rear bumper that had holes for aux lights since he works construction;we went all out. He wanted the lights to come on when your in reverse and a switch for when your in park;working on the tailgate(Really funny way to get some one of your ass when driving too).If you have the towing pkg with the RV 7 way plug then you have a constant 12v hot and a backup light connection. Use a relay like in my diagram kinda crappy but should get the point across lol.well hope it helps!

K.C. makes a 55 watt backup light kit which is sold in pairs. They are in a black rectangular casing and are small enough so that they stay up and out of the way. I have installed these at the bottom of my rear bumper on my last 3 trucks and they come on while in reverse. With the rear view backup camera I have on my truck, I found them to be a great addition when backing up in the woods, or at the boat launch.

Try led's I put them as my back up lights and they are super bright even though they are blue, still bright. They make them in white and if you know the same size bulb goes in your DRL's and I have those white. Super bright and put out a lot of light. I got mine off of ijdmtoy.com with no problems. Great products in the lighting area. Highly recommended! Try them out.

I've installed the KC backup light kit on my 06 Silverado. They are really bright. Only 2 wires to hook up to the reverse light socket at the taillamp. The other connections are pre-installed quick connect connectors. The kit comes with huge zip-ties that run through the the "L" shaped mounting bracket for the light and the instructions suggest wrapping them around the trailer hitch frame. I'm worried the zip-ties will eventually get brittle and brake.

I wend to a local shop called Hardcore Performance and Accesories and I purchased an LED brake/turn/reverse bar.

that AND I have LED bulb replacements for my reverse lights like stated above.
